Bevin Mehrbach, MS, LSW

Bevin Mehrbach is a licensed social worker and child development scholar whose clinical and academic focus explores a psychodynamic understanding of human development from birth through age eight. Prior to joining JPA in 2015, Bevin was a school counselor at a Therapeutic Day School in the north suburbs of Chicago. In this role, Bevin worked on social and emotional growth and development with students who were receiving intensive special education services. Bevin provided individual and group therapy while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Expressive Arts Therapists. Here, Bevin helped shape institutional knowledge of global child development which molded her school’s understanding of child behavior and led to expert clinical assessment of the root cause of frustration in children. At JPA, Bevin brings excitement and dedication to play-based and developmentally-informed models of service provision and a thoughtful commitment to continuous professional development and training.
