Parent Support Groups
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, JPA therapists have expanded their services to include virtual support groups for all parents who are struggling with the unique challenges that come with these uncertain times - supporting your children through e-learning; how to talk to your children about COVID-19; how to manage stress and anxiety in yourselves and your children; etc.
Please join us on Friday, May 22, at 2:30pm CST for our next parent support group. Led by JPA Therapist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Francesca Cole-Barnes, this hour-long session will be a safe and supportive space for parents to come together and talk through some of the issues they're facing. The goal is to provide suggestions, recommendations and tips to group members to help reduce some of the stress parents may be experiencing.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by 9am on (CST) Friday, May 22. Following your registration, you will receive an email with a link to access the Zoom meeting.
JPA’s Connect 2 Kids (C2K)™ and Steans Family Foundation webinar presentation:
JPA is lucky to have the spirit of our founder, Jane Addams, helping us stay true to our mission. In her honor, we created "Ask Jane," a way for students, parents, teachers, and others to ask questions about issues affecting them. You can ask her about dealing with stress, how trauma affects children, ways to constructively discipline a child, and related topics. Simply complete the form with your question and she'll get back to you with a public response. If your request is personal, let her know and you'll receive a personal reply.
Here you'll find ideas, tips, and lessons you can use in the classroom or living room to build relationships with your students or children.
