Hi, I'm Katie Gleason

Katie Gleason, MS, LCSW

Director of Connect to Kids (C2K),
Therapist, and Consultant

I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has been with JPA since 2012. I am dedicated to initiatives that provide children’s mental health services in various Chicago communities and settings, including early childhood programs, schools, homes, and hospitals. While at JPA, I've been a therapist providing both school-based and home-based therapy to children and parents. I now also serves as the Director of and consultant with JPA’s Connect 2 Kids/Kindergarten (C2K), a program partnering with schools to provide expert mental health consultation, training, and support to educators. I have overseen the development and growth of C2K, supporting its expansion from a pilot program focusing on Kindergarten, to a program that now serves educators in elementary school grades.

As an LCSW with a Master's degree in child development, I contribute a mental health and developmental lens critical for any program serving children and families. I prioritize building strong relationships with agency partners, my clients, and those I supervise. My practice rests on my knowledge of child development, is trauma-informed, and influenced by psychodynamic and other relational theories. I seek to understand, support, and empower families and educators affected by community violence, poverty, social injustice, and systemic inequities.

My BA in Psychology and Integrative Physiology is from the University of Colorado. My MS in Child Development is from the Erikson Institute, and my MSW is from Loyola University Chicago.

My specialty areas are Early Childhood, Adolescence, Trauma, Parenting and Family Concerns. I belong to the National Association of Social Workers
