Elizabeth Singler, MS, LSW

Staff Therapist

I have over 10 years of experience working with children, youth, and families including as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines and as a teacher’s assistant at a therapeutic day school. Most recently, I worked as a foster care clinician at Jewish Child and Family Services where I provided trauma-informed therapy to youth in DCFS care. In this role, I also worked closely with caregivers including foster parents and my clients’ biological parents using modalities such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP).

At JPA, I work at Lawndale Elementary Community Academy, a Chicago Public School on the west side of Chicago. There, I provide individual, small group, and classroom group therapy for elementary students. In all of my roles, I've learned the importance of building relationships while working with individuals, families, and communities. I strive to build positive relationships by expressing interest and a desire to learn from others, using strong communication skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion, and collaborating with others.

I earned my BA in Psychology at the University of Dayton, MS in Child Development at the Erikson Institute, and my MSW at Loyola University Chicago. My specialties are early childhood mental health, child-parent psychotherapy, trauma, child development, parenting and family concerns and relationship-focused therapy.
