Mental Health Consultant

Abigail Taylor, LCSW, PEL

Abigail Taylor, Mental Health Consultant, joined JPA in August 2022. Abigail holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Gender Studies from Kalamazoo College (2016), and an MSW from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2019). As a mental health consultant, Abby works with a cohort of elementary school teachers to enhance their reflective practice and collaborate around relational and trauma-informed strategies for their students. She facilitates a space to process the teacher’s experiences through consultation, classroom observations, and facilitation of social-emotional learning and psychoeducational classroom groups. In addition, Abby facilitates wellness groups and circles geared towards the social-emotional needs of school staff members.

Prior to joining JPA, Abby worked as a CPS Social Worker in elementary schools in the Ukranian Village and neighborhoods working with neurodiverse student populations and the implementation of restorative intervention. In her free time, Abby loves working in her vegetable garden, traveling, kayaking on lake Michigan, and sharing a good meal with her loved ones.

Abby is All in for Kids because "she believes that no matter what zip code or background a child is from, all young people deserve caring and respectful relationships in their school environments as well as access to therapeutic support that prioritizes their self-determination, and dignity."
